This Privacy Policy explains how WP Import Export (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles information when you use our website, plugin, support channels, and related services.
Plugin Data Processing
WP Import Export is designed to help WordPress site owners import, export, migrate, and manage website data.
The plugin processes data inside your own WordPress installation. Depending on how you use it, this may include WordPress posts, pages, custom post types, taxonomies, media references, users, metadata, WooCommerce data, plugin settings, CSV import files, JSON export files, and other content stored on your website.
We do not automatically receive, store, or inspect the content you import or export with the plugin. Your import/export files and website content remain under your control unless you intentionally send them to us for support.
Freemius
We use Freemius to manage licensing, software updates, subscriptions, checkout, payments, invoices, and account services.
When you activate a license, purchase a paid version, opt in through the Freemius screen, or use Freemius-powered account features, Freemius may collect and process information required to provide those services. This may include your name, email address, billing details, license key, website URL, WordPress version, PHP version, plugin version, payment status, and basic environment or usage information.
Freemius acts as our eCommerce, licensing, and payment platform. Freemius may also act as Merchant of Record for purchases and may process payment, tax, fraud-prevention, subscription, invoice, and license-related data.
Freemius provides opt-in and consent interfaces where required. If you skip optional usage tracking, the plugin will continue to work, although license validation, paid features, updates, and account features may still require limited data processing.
You can read more about Freemius privacy practices here:

Support Data
If you contact us for support, you may choose to share logs, screenshots, exports, CSV files, JSON files, temporary admin access, or other technical information.
We only use this information to investigate and resolve your request. Please avoid sending sensitive personal data unless it is necessary for support.

Payments, subscriptions, invoices, taxes, refunds, and license management are handled through Freemius.
We do not directly store your full payment card details. Payment information is processed by Freemius and its payment providers according to their own security and privacy practices.

Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the website, improve performance, remember preferences, process checkout sessions, prevent fraud, and understand how visitors use the site.
Third-party services, including Freemius, may set cookies or process technical information when you interact with checkout, licensing, account, or embedded purchase features.
Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable, we process personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract, such as providing plugin licenses, downloads, updates, and support.
- Legitimate interests, such as improving the plugin, preventing abuse, and securing our services.
- Consent, such as optional diagnostics or marketing communications.

Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited information with trusted service providers when necessary to operate our business, including Freemius, hosting providers, email services, analytics tools, support tools, payment processors, tax providers, fraud-prevention services, and legal or compliance providers.
Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing licenses, support, updates, account access, legal compliance, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution.
Support data and diagnostic files are retained only as long as needed to resolve the request, unless a longer retention period is required for legal or security reasons.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. However, no online service, website, plugin, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own WordPress website, admin users, hosting account, backups, import files, and export files.

Because we use third-party services such as Freemius, your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international data transfers.
Children’s Privacy
